from its hard folds
it counterpoises a metal equilibrium
through concrete airs

almost critters – amoeboid dinosaurs –
roaming the earth
echoing roughly in the ceiling pipes

a fauna of stars
and the promise of space is fulfilled
no longer a place of passage
but a locus of footfalls

immense immersed bodies
blocks that shore up
houses where my eyes
wander and find there

an architecture of hands and machines
